Not so fun dip

So I took Anthony to the store and let him pick out a treat. Anthony has a gift to pick out the one treat that I really don't want him to have. It is probably because they put the brightly packaged treats loaded with sugar right at the height of 2 year olds. I usually make him choose again but this time I defied the mother instinct that was screaming "don't even think about it" and let him keep his fun dip treat. As if that wasn't bad enough I showed him how to eat his treat and I went into the back room to fold laundry (once again defying the mother instinct). You can imagine what I found when I came back in. He had quickly eaten the stick and used his fingers as the dippers. Yum. His green hulk-like hands lasted for about a week. The green powder all over my couch actually wiped up quite well. Thank goodness for leather.

I HATE that they put those things right at the kids level. . . they do it on purpose so that we have to come back and buy cleaning supplies ;) Ethan is getting so big! ya for sleeping all night!

Hi Michael and Cari!

I came across your blog and wanted to say hello. What a beautiful family! Your boys are so handsome. You both are amazing parents!

I do not know why stores have to put those things at kids reach. Looks like Anthony had a fun time though. Glad it came off your couch. I love the picture of Ethan. He is sleeping through the night? Lucky Duck!!

Michael, congrats on your graduation. I am very proud of you. I enjoyed looking at those pictures and wishing to be back at BYU. Are you still singing and playing your guitar? I hope so! You are very talented and I am grateful for the opportunities, I had, to sing with you. That was so much fun. My regret is that we did not make a cd together. That would have been awesome! Lora asked about you and she says hello. (She played the piano for us when we sang)

Hope everyone is well and happy. Have a great day!

That's so funny! Isn't it amazing how ignoring the mother instinct is just ineveitable regret, but we do it anyway!!?! That is how I got red crayon all over our carpet. I think the mother instinct should be louder than the housekeeper instinct, but I swear, it isn't. And don't even get me started on the Facebook instinct.

I ignore my mother instincts all the time and end up regretting it! I had never tried to get ball point pen off a flat screen computer monitor until I had a 2 year old. Yikes!

what cracks me up is that this same "mother instinct" that tells you not to leave them to their own is also the same instinct that tells you to take a picture of whatever happens when you do :)

You got off the phone with me for that? That's HILARIOUS.

Well, at least the couch cleaned up well! I seem to ignore that gut feeling quite often, too. Why is it that we think they can't make that big of a mess?? You'd think we'd have learned better by now!

What a creative little guy! That's hilarious! (I guess it's a lot funnier when your not the one cleaning up the mess!) I can't believe Ethan is 6 mo old! Those pictures are so cute! What a happy boy! Yay for him sleeping through the night!

how fun! I understand that want to keep everything clean, and Tori isn't even crawling officially yet, but also agree that they have to be kids once in a while. I guess that is part of the job being a mom, huh.

Cari,

Hey I got your note about the bbq. We don't have anything going on that night and that sounds great! It would be fun to see you guys. What time and where? And what can we bring? My home number is 801-615-5574, and my cell is 801-787-7700. Or you can email me if that's easier at mrsrachelbaker@gmail.com
